MIS Varsity Tennis Team sichert sich Klassenerhalt!

Das MIS Varsity Tennis Team hat soeben eine aufregende Saison beendet. Die Trainer Thomas Sieghart und Alexander Raschke sind mit dem Ergebnis zufrieden. Das Hauptziel, den Klassenerhalt in der Division Eins zu halten, ist dem Team beim ISST (International Schools Tennis Tournament) in Cobham/ England geglückt. Dort traten vom 24 .Mai -26.Mai 2018 unsere Spielerinnen und Spieler gegen Teams aus 6 verschiedenen Internationalen Schulen an: Frankfurt International School, American School of London and American School of Paris, International School of Brussels, Cobham International School und natürlich die Munich International School. Das Team und ihre Trainer reisten einen Tag zuvor in London an, um mit dem Training zu beginnen. Nach 3 langen Tagen in der Tennishalle und einigen spannenden und mühsamen Matches gab es folgende Ergebnisse:

Girls Singles: Alyssa Richter – 1. Platz

Shama Raghavan – 4. Platz

Boys Singles: Emilio Mittendorfer – 3. Platz

Simon Devereux – 4. Platz

Boys Doubles: Christian und Laurent Saeijs- 6. Platz

Girls Doubles: Sophia Renner Amir/ Joelle Tsareva – 3. Platz

Vismaya Basting/ Bianca Kyd-Rebenburg – 4. Platz

Mixed Doubles: Mark Gibson/ Emilia Wendelstadt – 2. Platz

Insgesamt sicherte sich das Team der MIS somit den 4. Platz, doch wichtig ist, daß das Ziel, der Klassenerhalt der Division 1, erreicht wurde.

Danke an alle Spielerinnen und Spieler der Munich International School für Euren Einsatz! Die Trainer Thomas Sieghart und Alexander Raschke freuen sich auf die nächste Saison, die bereits in Planung ist, um das Team sorgfältig vorzubereiten. Wie jede Saison wurden die Athleten beim Recognition Evening in der MIS für ihre Leistungen geehrt.

[:en]The MIS Varsity Tennis Team has just finished an exciting season. Coaches Thomas Sieghart and Alexander Raschke are happy with the results. The mail goal,  staying in Division 1, was accomplished at the ISST Tournament ( International Schools Tennis Tournament) in Cobham/England which took place from May 24-May 26, 2018. The MIS team and their coaches flew to London a day early to prepare for the tournament. 6 schools had sent their best players from Frankfurt International School, American School of London and the American School of Paris, International School of Brussels, Cobham International School and, of course, the Munich International School. After three long days on court and exciting but also struggling singles and doubles matches, the Team had the following results:

Boys Singles: Emilio Mittendorfer -3rd Place

Simon Devereux- 4th Place

Girls Singles: Alyssa Richter – 1st Place

Shama Raghavan – 4th Place

Boys Doubles: Christian and Laurent Saeijs- 6th Place

Girls Doubles: Sophia Renner Amir/ Joelle Tsareva – 3rd Place

Vismaya Basting/ Bianca KYD-Rebenburg – 4th Place

Mixed Doubles: Mark Gibson/ Emilia Wendelstadt – 2. Place

Overall the MIS Team came in 4th Place, but managed to stay in Division 1.

The Season came to an end with the recognition evening at the MIS School where coaches hand out the MVP and Coaches Award to some players.
